Terms of Service

Last updated: July 12, 2026

Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Story Keeper(the “Service”). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice. Your continued use after a change takes effect means you accept the revised Terms.

Who we are

Story Keeperis a community-built web app for organizing Yoto card collections and gift registries. It is operated by its maintainer, Brady Watkinson (“we”, “us”), and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Yoto. “Yoto” and related names, logos, and card artwork are the property of their respective owners.

Eligibility

The Service is intended for parents and adult caregivers. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account. The Service is not directed to children, and you may not use it on behalf of anyone who is not eligible. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements.

Your account

You are responsible for the information you provide, for keeping your login credentials secure, and for all activity that occurs under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. You may close your account at any time; see your Settings and our Privacy Policy for account deletion.

Acceptable use

You agree not to, and not to attempt to:

  • use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
  • access, tamper with, or use non-public areas of the Service, or probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems;
  • interfere with or disrupt the Service, including by overloading it, scraping it at scale, or circumventing rate limits or access controls;
  • upload or share content that is unlawful, infringing, harmful, or that you do not have the right to share;
  • impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation, including any suggestion that the Service is affiliated with or endorsed by Yoto;
  • use the Service to build a competing product or to resell access without our permission.

We may suspend or terminate access that violates these Terms or that we reasonably believe harms the Service or other users.

Subscriptions & billing

Pro tier

Story Keeperoffers an optional paid “Pro” subscription that unlocks additional features and removes ads. Billing is processed by Polar, our merchant of record. By subscribing you also agree to Polar’s applicable terms, and you authorize recurring charges to your chosen payment method until you cancel.

Renewal & cancellation

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time from your Settings or through Polar; cancellation stops future renewals and your Pro access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for.

Refunds & price changes

Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and partial periods are not refunded. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us and we will work with you and Polar in good faith. We may change subscription prices or the features included in a tier; changes take effect at your next renewal, and we will give reasonable advance notice of a price increase.

Intellectual property

Card catalog data

The Yoto card catalog — including titles, descriptions, and artwork — belongs to Yoto and its content partners. Story Keeper surfaces this information to help you organize your collection; it grants you no rights in that content, and you may use it only for your personal, non-commercial use of the Service.

Your content

You keep ownership of the collections, registries, notes, and other content you create. You grant us a limited licence to store, display, and process that content as needed to operate the Service and to provide the sharing features you choose to use (for example, public or unlisted collections and shareable registry links). You are responsible for what you choose to make public.

The Service itself

The Story Keeper software, design, and branding are owned by us. These Terms do not transfer any of our intellectual property to you beyond the limited right to use the Service.

Third-party services

The Service connects to third parties you choose to use — including Yoto (when you link your Yoto account), Polar (payments), and others described in our Privacy Policy. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for them. Linking or unlinking a Yoto account is always your choice, and you can disconnect it at any time from your Settings.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that catalog data will be complete or accurate. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Story Keeper and its maintainer will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 50.

Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law — will continue to apply.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator resides, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Where the law gives you the benefit of the mandatory consumer protections of your own country of residence, nothing in these Terms affects those rights. Before bringing any formal claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve the matter informally.
